  11. I am planning on upgrading the RAM in my A3000 soon, however before I do 
  12. I have some questions, given that my configuration is a little on the odd 
  13. side...

  15. I currently have 6 MB of RAM in my A3000 (not T), 2 MB of chip RAM and 4 
  16. MB of fast.  My fast RAM all comes from 1x4Mb DIPs (yes, DIPs) that fill 
  17. up my DIP fast RAM bank.  This is not documented as being an option, but 
  18. it does in fact work just fine, except for the fact that I have to add 
  19. the NOCACHE option to SetPatch (although I can then do CPU CACHE and 
  20. things are OK, in fact I put that command right after SetPatch in my 
  21. Startup-Sequence).  I have always wondered why this may be, but no one 
  22. has been able to give me a good answer yet.

  24. Anyways, that's sort of an side from my real questions. 
  25.  - First of all, will 1x4Mb ZIPs work with these 1x4Mb DIPs?
  26.  - Secondly, is it not true  that all the RAM chips must be of the same 
  27. type (static column, page mode, whatever)?
  28.  - Thirdly, I have no idea what type the RAM is that I have now, how can 
  29. I find out?

  31. If anyone could answer my questions, I would very much appreciate.  As 
  32. you can surely understand, I am very eager to upgrade, 6 MB just isn't 
  33. much these days.
